Creative Musings -- Exploring the Creative Process | Motivation & Resources for Successful Writing

Emotional Turmoil Is a Great Plot Device. . .

"The tortured artist is a highly visible stereotype in our collective consciousness:  think Poe, Van Gogh, Elvis, and (more recently) Heath Ledger, to name just a few.  But does this emotional turmoil really serve us as creative artists?"

I’m Coming Out of Seclusion Now

Wow!  The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of activity for me.  I've been preparing for the launch of the Creative Muse Coach website, as well as leading a workshop in Sacramento and taking a great class on spiritual abundance — I'm feeling a bit like that tiny-headed kid in the Gary Larson cartoon, raising his hand in class and asking, "May I be excused?  My brain is full!"  (have you seen his "Complete Far Side" set?  it's huge and always good for a giggle!  my other favorite Far Side cartoon is the one of Edgar Allen Poe struggling with writer's block:  "The Tell-Tale Spleen. . .")

The good news is that I've been busily creating some fun stuff to share with you — lots of great writer's resources and other creative ideas. . . stay tuned for some exciting announcements!
